Manaslu, at 8163 meters, is the eighth highest
peak in the world. It is located in the
west-central part of Nepal, and our team will
climb it by the original route. |

Manaslu
Base camp
We
have arrived at the Manaslu Base camp at 16,000ft. All
team members are doing great! Our plan is to hang out
at Base camp for a few days to over-hydrate and enjoy
the 5-star cuisine that our BC chef is preparing. In a
few days, we will begin to establish Camp 1 at 19,000
ft.
The
big news is we have gained a new team member who has 4
legs. When we left the village of Sama, a friendly dog
decided to follow us. Everyone thought our tag along
friend would turn back once we hit snow. But the
persistent canine kept trucking along. Once he figured
out how much food we had, he made a decision to stay.
So we now have a Mountain Mascot appropriately
named Manaslu!
Things
are great and we hope to talk with you in a few days.
In 3-4 days, we will head to Camp 1.
Enjoy- JJ
