Manaslu Expedition We are on the move!
Piotr
Klepacz, doctor of the expedition, reports from the
base camp:
After many days of bad weather and heavy snowfalls,
the fortune is turning and the sun is shining again.
Today six climbers from our expedition: Piotr
Pustelnik, Jozef Gozdzik, Krzysztof Tarasewicz,
Barbara Drousek, Anna Czerwinska and Darek Zaluski are
in camp II (6250m). Tomorrow they will climb to camp
III (6800m), and the day after, together with the
American team they will try to push for the summit,
putting camp IV at 7500m on their way. I keep my
thumbs crossed for everyone to make it to the top and
return safely. The bad news is that us and the
Americans were now the only
teams under Manaslu, since the Slovenians and the
Dutch expedition have already left the base camp"
