Manaslu, at 8163 meters, is the eighth highest
peak in the world. It is located in the
west-central part of Nepal.
Piotr Pustelnik has summited 11 of the
world's 14 highest peaks.
If he summits Manaslu, he will only have
Broad Peak and Annapurna left.

A rest in Sama: Yesterday, all
the expedition members made it to the village of Sama
Goan (3500m). Today its a rest day for all of us.
Maybe except for the doctor, whos busy dressing our
wounds and frostbite. He claims, basing it on his
medical knowledge, that soon well be all fine and
back to normal condition.
Tomorrow well set of to Kathmandu. Well probably get
there in five days. The main subject of our current
discussions is the weather. We are trying to find an
answer o a question: Was there at least one day
during this expedition, when it did not snow? We
figured out there was one, but subsequently someone
said: It did snow that day but
yeah, ok, only for
an hour or so

Manaslu Expedition - Manaslu summited!
Back at the base camp: We
reached the summit of Manaslu around 14.00, May 17th.
But on this mountain we had to fight till the very
end. The weather conditions were getting worse very
quickly. We made a couple of pictures and started the
descent. Suddenly I was hit by a very strong gust of
wind. I hit Krzysztof as I fell, and we tumbled down
together for about 300m. Well bruised and tired, lost
in a snow-storm, we found our way to camp IV using a
compass. Luckily we made it.
Darek,
Anna and Basia were waiting for us in the camp. They
also made the summit bid, but were forced by the
weather to retreat halfway. The five of us did not fit
in only one tent in camp IV, so Darek started going
down, while we stayed. Basia and Anna helped me and
Krzysztof. On Sunday, the 18th the weather was still
bad snowing and strong winds. Struggling in the
fresh snow, we made it only to American camp II. The
six of us spent a night there, in two tents this time.
Yesterday, on the 19th, we continued to the base camp.
The conditions were still difficult. Even though we
were helped by Darek and Jozek, we reached the base
camp at 19.00. Today we are packing up, putting the
base camp down and soon well head back to Sama.
