Nine:
Thanks for your patience after our Pumori expedition
placed 7 team members and 3 Sherpas on the summit,
then while we walked from basecamp to Lukla, in three
days, and then flew from Lukla to Kathmandu only this
morning. Our Pumori team is back in Kathmandu resting
at the Nepa Hotel and celebrating today, and in one
more day, Daniel will join the Manaslu expedition,
and fully take-up his role as leader of the
Manaslu expedition, along with Jeffrey Justman,
who is already there with the 8 other members. |
Daniel will fly in a 4
seat helicopter to Manaslu basecamp on 15 April with
the famous Nepalese climbers: Lakpa Sherpa and Shera
Sherpa (who just had one of his teeth filled this
morning). Scott Darsney of the Manaslu team called
only today to say that everything is going well and
the Manaslu team is just putting in camp 2. So the
transition from the Pumori expedition to the Manaslu
expedition seems to be going well. Nepal has been very
peaceful and everyone seems to be very happy with the
current peace treaty between the Maoists and the
Government of Nepal. The weather in Kathmandu is
rather warm and sunny and summer-like. We will be in
touch frequently during the next few days, so thanks
for staying with us, and posting this dispatch on both
the Pumori and Manaslu websites,
in order to to ensure the smoothest possible
transition between the two sites, in order to make
everything run smoothly for your site-viewers. All the
