  Mount Everest 2004: Ang Rita Sherpa the tradition continues...


Ang Rita Sherpa, 10 time summiter, will not be on Everest this Spring, however his two sons will be again. "My elder son [Karsang Namgyal Sherpa] is going with Russell Brice (Himalayan Experience, France) and my other son [Chhewang Dorje Sherpa] is going with Asian trekking both from Tibet side.", Ang Rita tells EverestNews.com.

Ang Rita Sherpa's younger son, Chhewang Dorje Sherpa, has summited Everest 2 times so far. His first summit was with the "Caucasus 99" Georgia Expedition when he summited via the standard south east ridge route with Beno Kashakashvili on May 12th, 1999. He summited again via the standard south east ridge route with Saeed Toossi on May 22nd, 2000.

Karsang Namgyal Sherpa has summited Everest three times, 1995. 1998, 1999.
