Katmandu (1.400m). Lukla (2.800m). Phakding (2.600m)
Expedition Brazil to the Top of the World. The
beginning of the walk to approach base camp.
We are very happy,
today finally we leave Kathmandu and we enter in the
Himalaya. Our greatest challenge is ahead and we are
simply happy to the fact to be in the Khumbu, the
Nepalese region of the Everest. Months of preparation
in Brazil, physical training weighed, search of
resources, the long trip from Brazil, the meeting with
an exotic culture, the bureaucracy of Kathmandu, and
finally the confrontation with mountains of the
Himalaya. It is a moment that we remember to be
thankful for our sponsors and the companies who are in
supporting for the privilege to carry through this
great dream. We leave today the airport of Kathmandu
on board a Twin Otter, which stops after 40 minutes of
flight putting in Lukla, marking our entrance to the
Khumbu, the kingdom of Sherpas. To our surprise, we
had a beautiful vision of mountains of the Himalaya
during the flight, with the presence of a great
typical cloud amount of the summer monsoon.

The forecast is to
make this passage in 8 days, giving the chance for our
bodies to more adapt to the air each day. Today two
photos, in the first one appears my friends arriving
in Phakding, crossing a bridge on waters of the River
Dudh Khosi. The river is full.... In the
second one is the vision that we had during our flight
of Kathmandu the Lukla.

Namaste!
