Ama Dablam Autumn 2002

Dan Mazur and his Autumn 2002 Ama Dablam

An extremely triumphant day today, with the safe arrival of Randy, Tom Taplin, Roland, Patrick, Ken, Dan and all the Sherpas and gear in Base camp.

The Sherpas and Porters amazed us by walking into base camp carrying enormous loads! Lahkpah Sherpa carried an incredible 10 tents, three stoves plus his own personal gear! His pack weighed easily 60 kgs(120lbs).

Jay made a huge mistake today - he hadn't eaten for two days, was ravenous and discovered a jar of peanut butter and a bowl of popcorn in the mess tent. You can guess the outcome!

Autumn Everest 2002
The rogue  yak that stole our potato basket returned again last night - this time he tripped over a mass of pots and pans, scared himself silly and bolted out of the camp almost taking Charlie's tent with him! We are thinking of laying a trap for him tonight - we want to capture him on video - an excellent addition to Tom's home movie! Stay tuned for more Yak News.

Thank you from all of us on Ama Dablam.

Best Regards From All Of US on the Ama Dablam Expedition from www.summitclimb.com
