Hinkes Summits Annapurna I

6th, 2002: Alan
Hinkes has successfully summitted Annapurna I, the
10th highest in the world, today at 11.30 AM. He spent
about an hour at the summit. Alan returned from the
summit after the noon, exact time to be confirmed
later. He is now back at Camp III at approx. 23000 ft,
toasting up with the Indian Army Summiters who
summitted Annapurna Summit this morning at 0720 hrs.
and the Summitter Sherpas.
Alan
will return to ABC tomorrow and finish up the
Expedition. This is Alan’s 12th 8000er, the most
technically difficult 8000 m peaks in the world.
