Annapurna Autumn 2002 East Ridge

An International expedition consisting of Abele Blanc (13*8000 meters), Silvio Mondinelli, Mario Merelli, Christian Kuntner, Kobi Reichen and Carlos Pauner is attempted to repeat the route that Jean-Christophe Lafaille and Alberto Inurrategui achieved in Spring Annapurna 2002. This route was first achieved of course by the great climbing legends Ehardt Loretan and Norbert Joos. Only these four legends of climbing has achieved the Annapurna Summit via this route with Ehardt Loretan and Norbert Joos descending via the North side. This Autumn this extremely experienced and strong team organized by Focus expedition look to repeat this route again.
Update 10/3/02: This morning the team left base camp as the weather forecast says that till 6 October will be good so they want to take advantage of the next few days to put CII at 6400m and CIII at 7200m. There still lots of snow on their way so there will be lots of work for them to be able to reach their aim.
