March 9 - Gary was up early to chat with the folks on Austin's local Fox 7 News at 6:20 and 7:30 am. Gary has been asked lots of times how he's training for the expedition. One of the best ways to train is to wear one's high altitude boots and lift trees. Yeah, yeah... Twelve fully packed expedition boxes - tents, equipment, food and goodies - departed Austin this afternoon for Dallas and on to Nepal. The boxes should arrive into Kathmandu around the 14th or 15th of March.

March 10 - The day started early with Gary interviewing at the local ABC and NBC morning show studios. As Gary said, 3-1/2 minutes goes quickly and before you know it, you're sitting back in your car wondering what just happened. The interviews went well, though, and those watching understand a bit more about what climbing Everest is all about and Gary's specific hopes to raise awareness and hope for disabled people.

Thanks to everyone at Whole Earth Provision Co. who provided a most excellent wine, fruit and cheese reception for Gary on Saturday afternoon. And thank you for those who dropped by to wish him well. We were overwhelmed with the show of support and feel truly blessed.
