43rd day of the Brazilian Expedition to the Top of the World.
Base Camp (5,400m). Hoping for a final attack.

Today was a day of intense activity here at Base Camp.

I didn't stop for a second, doing numbers, imagining the activities of the next days, imagining how our final attack will be.

Imagining the possibilities alone is not easy, even more when other expeditions have the same objective.  The problem arises when the other groups don't have the same disposition, it is now the time to convince them, which is not always easy.

So, by the end of the day, going between the Korean Camp and the Japanese Camps, I decided that the Brazilian Expedition will one more time be the leader of the task of opening the climbing route above Camp 3, but with the help of Sherpas from the other expeditions.

The Koreans, who have done nothing so far, will lend us a Sherpa and 600m of ropes, while each of the Japanese expeditions, one for Everest (whose chief is Katayama) and one for Lhotse (whose chief is Takajashi), will lend us two Sherpas plus 400m of ropes.

And so, my friends, we are ready to start a decisive phase of our expedition.  In the next ten days we hope to reach the summit of the two biggest mountains on Earth, Everest and Lhotse.  We won't be short of thrills, and we hope we have your support.  We are counting with you!

See in today's pictures our big challenges, Everest and Lhotse.

We are going together towards the Top of the World!

Namaste!
