44th Day of the Brazilian Expedition to the Top of the World.
Base Camp ( 5,400m ) - Camp 2 ( 6,500 m ) On our way to make our dream come true.

Today was a long and hard day.  We left Base at 6 in the morning, to arrive to Camp 2 at 6 in the afternoon, but don't be afraid, it is not because the team is in bad condition, but because in these last three days the conditions on the mountain changed totally.

The Ice Fall is dangerous.  In the middle, in that part where "God opened the way", full of crevasses and bridges, a sliding happened in front of us.  Some 100m of terrain is upside down.  It took two hours to work that part again, with the help of the SPCC personnel, who luckily were at the top.  It was very scary, but no one was hurt.

The other reason for our delay was the big amount of snow that we found at 6,300m.  The trail had disappeared and we had to open it through a blanket of 30cm of loose snow.

And now the good news:  Marcelo Bonga came this afternoon to Base Camp, after solving his tooth problem in Kathmandu.  It is a beautiful night with a full moon in Camp 2.  We hope the weather continues this good so the Brazilian team can make their dream come true.
Namaste!
