48th day of the Brazilian Expedition to the Top of the World.
Camp 2 (6,500m). Resting at 6,500 m. of altitude.

We had very bad weather today, it snowed all night and practically all day.  At least we chose the right day to rest.

Marcelo Bonga, with the objective to improve his acclimatization, tried to attack the Face of Lhotse with our Sherpa carriers, hoping that the weather would improve.  But they could not get to where Camp 3 is located, and they turned around because of the wind and the cold.

Staying all day inside a tent, hearing the snow falling outside, is not very nice.  Even more knowing that the next days were chosen for our attack to the summit.

It is a moment of patience and also for persevering.  We are going to continue withstanding, waiting for a truce from the wind and the snow, to finally achieve our big dream: to put the Brazilian Flag on the Top of the World.

Paulo Mαfia from Base Camp:

Today, the weather at our Camp was very cold and foggy.  Mixed with a snowfall that lasted all night and part of the morning, we had the lowest temperature so far.

Namaste!
