49th day of the Brazilian Expedition to the Top of the World.
Camp 2 (6,500m) Last preparations for the final attack.

Some nervousness and anxiety is always normal before an important decision.  That is why our day couldn't be different.  We decided, my dear friends, that we will start our final attack to the summit tomorrow, encouraged by the weather forecast and the desire of getting fast high up the two biggest mountains of the world, Everest (8,848m) and Lhotse (8,501m).

We'll have three to five days of intense activity, when we intend to climb Everest first, and then Lhotse.  We are going to need all your support to commemorate this way the International Year of the Mountains.

We pursue the achievement of one of the greatest challenges of the world, carrying proudly on our chests the colors of the Brazilian flag.

During the summit attack, we will have periodic updates on line, for you to follow us every moment of our adventure!

Paulo Mαfia from Base Camp:

Activities at Base Camp are as intense as those of the team in the mountain.  We started to move the radio antenna and some other things to follow the team's performance and to transmit to you in Brazil.

Picture:  Arriving to the heights of Camp 3, 7,300m of altitude.
Namaste!
