19th day of the
Brazilian Expedition to the Top of the World.
Base Camp ( 5,400m ) Arrival of the Japanese
Expedition.
Today we had a busy day at Base
Camp, we installed the antenna for our radio base, and
we setup the equipment and the food for Camp 1.
We watched closely the arrival of
the Japanese Expedition which includes three climbers
and the SPCC group, responsible of installing the
equipment on the Ice Cascade (see day 8/18).
It has snowed a lot all afternoon,
but now at night (20:00 hours), the sky is starry and
our Tissot T-Touch shows an unstable atmospheric
pressure and a temperature of minus 5 degrees
(Celsius).
We talked with Katmandϊ and our
notebook arrives tomorrow to Lukla so it should be
here at Base Camp until the weekend, when we will
resume with our e-mails and the pictures.
