20th day of the Brazilian Expedition to the Top of the
World.
Base Camp ( 5,400m ) / Ice Fall (5,640m ) / Base Camp
Climbing starts.
With a sunny
morning, we started today our climbing of Everest,
facing the Ice Fall for the first time, with a steep
slope 700m high, a real maze of blocks of ice.
We made it to
5,640m, leaving the first third of the Ice Fall (he
calls it the Cascade) with 400m of fixed ropes.
In fact, we went
along with the SPCC team, which includes 03 Sherpas,
who have the mission of installing equipment on the
Ice Cascade. We paid our mandatory US$ 10,000.00
(Everest and Lhotse), for this service, but helping
them is a great pleasure. Here on the mountain we are
all the same.
Namaste!
