21st day of the Brazilian Expedition to the Top of the
World.
Base Camp ( 5,400 ) - Ice Fall ( 5,800 ) - Base Camp.
Facing the Ice Fall.
Another sunny
day, the first with no snow or rain. With to time to
waste, we climbed the Ice Fall again, along with the
SPCC team.
I have to confess
that I am very proud of the Brazilian team for their
disposal. Bonga, Irivan, Paulo, Alir and me carried
the ropes, flags and aluminum ladders up the Ice
Fall. We fixed more than 400m of lines and improvised
four bridges with aluminum ladders, across the longest
crevasses.
Just next to the
5,800m we found snow up to our waists and thought that
we had to do a lot of effort to get where Camp 1 is
located.
The Japanese,
like yesterday, did not go out of Base Camp.
There you go, go
Brazil!
Namaste!
