22nd day of the Brazilian Expedition to the Top of the
World.
Base Camp (5,400m) Rest at Base.
We were
frightened by the amount of snow that fell during the
night. At least 30cm of snow covered our Base Camp by
the morning. The roof of our dinning tent could not
stand the weight and fell.
With such a harsh
weather, we all decided to take a well deserved rest.
At lunch time our
cook took a time off and we showed off cooking a nice
feijoada, killing the desire of Brazilian food. Now,
20:30 at night, the temperature is minus 4 degrees
(Celsius) and it started to snow again.
