The
2002 Himalayan Experience Everest Expedition
|
|
 |
7th
May: Summit Team: Despite recurring
technical issues with electricity generation
& regulation, coupled with failing
radios and computers (thus no e-mail
communication), the expedition is
progressing well.
Last
telephone reports from Russell had camps 1,
2 & 3 (7900m) installed with all
equipment at camp 3 ready to establish camp
4. The climbers are well and acclimatizing
to schedule.

The
high winds mentioned in the previous release
are not note worthy. In recent years,
Everest has been exposed to unusually low
wind speeds during the spring season. This
year the wind speed is just back to normal.
North
Col Teams: The first North Col team saw 2 of
3 reach the Col. The second team saw two
drop out before ABC and two reach the Col.
The Third and final team are now at Lhasa.
