Current Expedition Time
Dispatch Five:
August 28 - Ta-She-Day-Lay from
Shegatsi, Tibet and a special hello to HHFC. This is Nancy reporting in. We
arrived here today about 3:00pm altitude 13,000 feet. Everyone on the team is
feeling great. To acclimatize we took a tour of the Zhashenlunbu Temple, home
to approximately 500 monks.
Tomorrow we are
off to Tingri and then on to base camp in two days. We are all so anxious to
get started climbing and it won't be much longer now. The team is getting to
know each other better as the days go by and everyone is fitting in well
together. It's a great group. I'll sign off for now and my next report will be
from the Mountain. Nancy

Nancy Norris, who at age 59 will
attempt Cho Oyu, the world’s 6th highest mountain, as a
prelude to her climb on Mt. Everest in the Spring 2004
at age 60. Nancy will attempt to become the oldest
American woman to Summit Everest.
On Cho Oyu, Nancy Norris will join a team of 25 climbers,
guides and support staff organized by International Mountain Guides, Inc.
(IMG). Headquartered in Ashford, WA under the direction of American
mountaineer Eric Simonson. IMG has successfully led over 100 climbers to the
summit of Cho Oyu on 11 previous expeditions to that mountain.
