We get many questions
on the youngest American Everest Summiter: Joby Ogwyn
born 8/25/74 summited Everest on 5/12/99 at the age of
24, we believe he is still the youngest. He summited
at 9am with
Willie Benegas, a guide on the OTT Expedition that
year. Joby was on the Henry Todd expedition. They took
turn breaking trail to the Summit, with heavy snow and
no fixed ropes. Joby is a very strong young climber,
who since Everest has completed the
Seven Summits.
Where is
Joby now?
On the way to K2 with the Henry Todd expedition!
Joby did
not summit K2 in 2002, no one did....
