Ben
called Friday morning and said that they
were planning on moving up the mountain
to make the final assault on the summit.
He said they planned to leave for
Camp 2 at 21,500 feet on Saturday
(Friday night USA).
The plan is to move straight to
Camp 3 at 23,600 feet on Sunday,
(Saturday night USA) Camp 4 at 24,500
feet Monday, (Sunday night USA) and
Summit 26,788 feet on Tuesday (Monday
night USA).
He said he would check in daily.
This
morning we heard from him again.
They made Camp 2 at 21,500 feet
safely.
The sky was clear and weather was
good.
This should allow them to go on
to Camp 3 at 23,600 tonight.
We will update you as we receive
information from him. |

He
plans to call into our local Clarksville AM radio
station, 1400 WJZM, Monday morning at 7:45AM CST
6:30PM on Dhaulagiri. He will talk to Hank
Bonecutter live on the air.
For those of you in Clarksville, you might
want to listen.
At that time, if the plan goes well, it
will be early evening and they should be at Camp 4
- getting ready to assault the summit. They will
be leaving early the next morning to summit.
They will be at extreme altitude when he
calls in so he told me to ask Hank not to ask him
too many difficult questions!
Hopefully the weather will cooperate and
they will make the summit.
This should be a very exciting time for all
of them.
