MONDRY (CLIMBER)
Andrew Mondry is a husband and father of
three children. Andy, his wife Leah,
daughter Emma Rose (6), and sons Simon (2)
and Grahm (1 month) reside in Los Angeles
California. Andy is in the automobile
restoration business and Leah is a labor
and delivery nurse.
Andy
began climbing in 1985 when he and David
Dinger summited the Grand Teton in Jackson
Wyoming. From this humble beginning Andy
went on to summit several peaks throughout
the world including Cho Oyu, Aconcagua,
Kilimanjaro, Illimani, Huayna Potosi,
Chimborozo, Cotopaxi, Popocatapetl, Pico
De Orizaba, Mt. Rainier, Mt. Whitney and
Mt. St. Helens. Andy's climbing career has
not been without adversity as is evidenced
by failed attempts on Hunter, Rainier,
Adams and three failed attempts on Mt.
Mckinley prior to his successful fourth
expedition. Although, Andy considers his
one hundred plus days on the flanks of Mac
as the highlight of his climbing
experience, this 2002 Dhaulagiri
expedition has the makings of a new, all
time, favorite trip.
