A
picture of Jim holding and acting like he is biting a
snake charmer's pet Python made the local Kathmandu
Post newspaper yesterday with the caption
"Playing with fire; a tourist holds a snake
charmer's pet". A dubious honor, at best, I
think, especially since Jim is my son... The team sent
me several pictures taken in Kathmandu, including the
snake pictures, which are posted below page for you to
see. Jim and Scott are fine and said all is going
well. They are scheduled to fly to Llasa (in China)
tomorrow (9 April). They met their cook and said he
seems like a nice guy. They were saddened to learn the
uncle, a Major in the Nepali Army, of their Asian
Trekking contact was killed in an ambush by the Maoist
