APRIL 5 2002 Hello again - Gavin left us some voice mail today (we missed his call - whoops!). Modern technology, eh.

Anyway, everyone has arrived safely at Base Camp now and apparently the weather is incredible. Everest is clearly visible rising up above the Rongbuk Glacier - according to Gavin's sat phone message "it's a massive bloody mountain".

In the next few days he hopes to get his computer and data link set up so we can look forward to some pics and a longer article penned by the man himself...
