The expedition-team reports the first time with
their satellite-telephone: arrival in Nyalam, all
okay!
START
IN KATHMANDU: The "search" for the COLEMAN
gas cartridges was successful! The expedition-team
started in Kathmandu on April 7, 2:00 pm (local
time). After a drive of 5 ½ hours they reached the
Chinese border near Kodari.
CHINESE
BORDER: After spending the night in Kodari (1800 m)
the team passed the Chinese border on April 8. They
had lunch in Zangmu and drove to Nyalam.
ACCLIMATIZATION
IN NYALAM: It snows! The expedition-team wants to
stay two days in Nyalam (3750 m) for
acclimatization. They took the sunny hours in the
morning (April 9) to make walks in the environs.
They all are okay. The team plays cards for whiling
away.
