We received phone call from Martine Larroque, her laptop has crashed, so she is not able to send regular updates. She will be getting a new laptop in couple of days with the help of France telecom. Regular updates will be available very soon. Latest Updates given by Martine is as below.

Everyone wonders what happened at the base camp. After 10 days of trekking, I have reached the base camp. I am the first westerner to reach base camp. It was a huge construction site with all yellow tents, getting ready for expeditions. The first few days were dedicated to organize tents and to make them as much comfortable as possible for coming two months. Here at 5300 meter it's very dangerous, so need to be very careful at every step. In morning mountains look very beautiful and from my tent I have the best view in the world. The Khumbu icefall looks like a giant crystal. As soon as the weather turns bad, we take refuge in the mess tent. The weather is so cold here that we put gas stove (heater) under the table to get warm. In morning it's so cold that my toothpaste and all other things inside the tent gets frozen and i need to defreeze them before using. The temperature is below 18 degree centigrade. Today it's April first, expedition has started to arrive and I can see more life at the base camp. I expect my fellow climbers who share the same facilities to arrive in some next days.
