Simone Moro Everest/Cho Oyu 2002 Expedition

Hello my friends, as you can see I am sending daily reports.  I hope our efforts will keep you interested. I am sending you a picture of Franco Nicolini, who arrived yesterday at base camp with Mirco Mezzanotte. As you all know, they are the runner-up of the European Skiing Championship and they are about to speed climb Cho Oyu. My speed is also "dangerous"...

Today the weather is bad, and last night the wind was very strong. Almost everybody is at BC while others rested at camps higher on the mountain. As far as my plans are concerned, I am thinking of climbing up high tomorrow and then to come back the same night to BC to avoid consuming precious energies at the other temporary camps. I will have to carry a tent from C1 to C2 in order to have a point of support in case of necessity. I think that after tomorrow (weather permitting) I will try my real climb for the summit. I have a little of dry cough with a low voice, but everything seems to be in control. No need of medicines for now. All the other members are fine, and they will climb in the next days to sleep at C1. That's all for today.

Ciao ,
Simone Moro
