Pictures

First view of Everest!...on the left.

Zoomed in!

Sean filtering the water from the hotel... cant be too careful!

A main street right outside our hotel. Cars, motorcycles, people, rickshaws, everything on a tiny street.

A typical street in Kathmandu, cars too!

Prayer wheels, walk around and spin them and they give you good fortune... and me a headache because the overhang is so low, I hit my head a few times.

A great picture of why the air is so bad. The city is built for 1/4 the number of cars it has. The air is WORSE here than in Bangkok. From what I understand, the cars that do not pass emission tests in India get sent here. And yes, it hurts to breathe.

Coming up to a square. Back in the height of the city, different rulers built gorgeous squares, not to be outdone by the previous ruler, so there are amazing buildings all around these squares.

Under a tree just like this Buddha gained enlightenment! These are sacred trees in Nepal.

I think it is amazing how it goes out of solid concrete, and brick!

Sheva, in a destruction state, animals are sacrificed here on October 8th, 108 goats, 108, chickens, and 108 buffalo, each year to appease her. All the meat is eaten though.

The home of a living goddess, Kumari. A tiny young girl, that is chosen much like a lama is. Though once she bleeds she is considered street trash, because the goddess has left her. Also anyone that marries a living goddess does not live long, much like a curse.

Sean at an alter for good journey, pray here and you will have a good journey.

Sean after the alter!
