Couples Everest 2002 Expedition

Update 6/9/2002: Sources have told EverestNews.com that Paulo & Helena made it to high camp this spring but did not summit. Wilfried J. Studer supposedly made it very high on the ridge this year, but also did not summit. Both couple have been to Everest several times now. We have not confirmed this yet...

This expedition is planning on leaving Kathmandu for Tibet to climb the North side of Everest on 4/13/02. Paulo & Helena Coelho has been on Everest Several times including 97, 98 and 2001. Wilfried & Sylvia Studer have also been on Everest several times including 99, 2000, and  2001. Both of these couples as you can see below are climbing without Sherpa support and independent. 

Update 4/11/2002: Paulo & Helena are already in Kathmandu ! They'll be in the city until Saturday or Sunday when they leave for Everest. Guta
