This
commercial expedition will be lead by Eric Simonson.
Members include Lynn Prebble (49, a physical
therapist from Colorado who has summited Cho
Oyu), Jody Thompson (38, a nurse from Colorado
has summited Rainer, Denali and a failed
attempt on Ama Dablam in 98), Kim Clark (34; a
third year nursing student at the University of
Colorado who has summited Denali), Alison
Levine (35, an investment banker for Goldman
Sacks), Midge Cross (58, who has climbed
Aconcagua) will be climbing on this commercial
expedition. Dave Hahn, Lisa Rust, and Ben
Marshall will be guides on the expedition. Look for the press
coverage [Newspapers, TV, stuff] to overwhelm everything else on Everest this
year with the big sponsor [FORD]... It is expected to be
covered EVERYWHERE with the big
sponsor... Other
climbers are expected to include Phil and
Susan Ershler. More

The Expedition has arrived at Base Camp
in force! The heavily sponsored expedition has 15-20
climbing Sherpas and is huge! It will be interesting
to see how Eric handles Everest 2002, for more
