Asian Airlines helicopter is missing after
leaving Makalu base camp. A search is on for the
helicopter. Asian Airlines is owned by the
same company as Asian trekking in Nepal. Stay

6/1/2002: The Russian pilot and 9 others are missing
after their Asian airlines helicopter went missing after
leaving Makalu base camp.
Missing
Helicopter: "It is still missing since yesterday
at 10 a.m. and other 4 helicopters are continuing
search in that area. There are four flight crew
members and 6 passengers."
The
flight crew members are:
1.
Pilot
- Mr. A. Gravi Nikov
2.
Senior Co-pilot - Mr.
Sonam Tashi Sherpa
3.
Flight engineer
- Mr. Elpha Gumar
4.
Flight Attendance
- Mr. Deepak
The
6 passengers were Nepalese Staff of Spanish
Makalu Expedition Team. Any

6/7/2002: Searches have not found the
Asian Airlines helicopter. Ground searches are
now underway, including Sherpa climbers who were on
the North Side on Everest this Spring 2002, helping
with the search. The brother of Lakpa Sherpa is among
those searching....
Update 6/16/2002: No
helicopter ! The Army, the search parties, not even the
Sherpa climbers from Everest can find it. Where is the
helicopter??

continue to get requests for information.
No
helicopter ! The search parties of
Sherpa climbers from Everest cannot find it. Where is the
helicopter?? No one seems to know.
