Everest 2003: Bhutan/Himalayan
Mountaineering Institute

Karma Gyeltshen, is expected to attempt to become the
first climber from Bhutan to attempt to Summit Everest in Spring
2003.
Karma will be supported by the Himalayan
Mountaineering Institute (HMI) and attempt the North
side of Everest. The HMI (Darjeeling, India) has
organized the expedition.
Update:
Karma Gyeltshen was not successful in becoming the
first climber from Bhutan to Summit Everest in Spring
2003. However, the
Himalayan Mountaineering Institute (HMI) did have
several climbers summit again.
