There have been over 40 Ski
descents from 8000 meters ever (not including snow boarders), and including
the lines per these lists, that
means there are at least 48
total ascents from above 25,000. I know there are probably a handful that I am
not aware of, but it is safe to assume that there are probably less than 75
ski descents from above 25,000 feet ever. So while skiing on Everest from
25000 feet seems small in the face of that mountain, in the world of high
altitude skiing, and considering we did it with out Sherpa support or O's,
this was an incredibly successful expedition. I think that Steve and I are the
only Americans to ski from greater than 25k more than once.
We will send in some
pictures soon ! Mike
