Gile American Ski Everest 2003 |
Dispatch Seven:
This is American Ski Everest Expedition, dispatch
number 7; We are all sitting at base camp, on day 5,
that is one additional day than compared to our
original schedule. After our acclimatization hike to
18,000 feet on day 3, we all decided that we wanted to
postpone our move to immediate camp at 20,000 feet,
for one additional day. We wanted one more acclimatization
day and then a rest day before we made the move.
So we spent day 5 packing our gear,
and getting ready for day 6, just hanging out and
resting. Everybody is healthy, and everything else in
on plan. We should be at the immediate camp tomorrow
afternoon where we will do dispatch 8.
We are busy getting ready for
tomorrow. Everybody is ready and getting ready for the
move. We need to add Jon our expedition doctor to the
web site. He is from Aspen. He is 44 and has climbed
Gasherbrum
II, Aconcagua,
Denali twice, multiple
peaks in South American, He worked as a medical doctor
in Nepal in 91 and 95 , and as a medical ranger on
Denali, etc ...
All is well... Mike
