| Current Tibet Date/Time Everest conquered by Fear! Sue Fear Summited Everest on 5/30/2003. Sue has become the first Australian born woman to Summit Everest. Brigitte Muir, wife of Jon Muir was the first Australian woman as she had citizenship. Brigitte was born Brigitte Leonce Suzanne Koch was born in Belgium in 1958. Tim McCartney- Snape was of course the first Australian citizen to summit Everest doing it in style with a new route on Everest: Australians Tim Macartney-Snape and Greg Mortimer reached the Summit via the North Couloir (North Face to Norton Couloir) without bottled oxygen.
