Update 5:
Everest – Lhotse Expedition
Spring 2003 Peter Guggemos, Germany

Date: 27. April 2003 Arrived in:
Base Camp High: 5.350 m

Hello, many greeting from
Nepal.

English: After a first acclimatization tour I am again
back in base camp. On 4/23 I am started, by the Khumbu icefall, and at
approximately 3 ½ in the morning I reached camp I at 4.45 o'clock. The icefall
is relatively good under normal conditions and actually ready to go. In camp
I, I stayed overnight until 4/24. In the early morning I packed and went to
camp II. From camp II, on 4/25 I went with light luggage up to camp III,
approx. 6,700 meters. Again back in camp II, I again stayed overnight and on
4/26 I am again back in the base camp. On 4/26 approx. 120-150 people
went up to camp III! That is for the moment everything. I am back in the base
camp and in a few days I will recover here and start my second acclimatization
tour.

Many greeting to you all.
Peter
