May – Fabio left Base Camp at 4pm local time (GMT +
5.45) for the ascent and descent record on Everest in
24 hours. He reached the Ice Fall having passed Camp 1
(5,99m) at 17.25 and Camp 2 at 18.37. He should reach
the South Col, 7,950m, at midnight.
Manuela, who is in great
shape, is resting at the South Col and will leave for the summit at 11 pm to
become the first Italian woman to the top.
The summit record times are
forecast for 8am for Fabio and 12 pm for Manuela. Fabio’s descent time should
be around 8 hours.
Some report to EverestNews.com that the
Sherpa speed climber also left but we have not confirmed that..

Update May 14th: Ready to Move up to Camp 3!

Most of the members of the expedition are at camp
ready to move up to camp 3. They report the wind
decimated numerous stretches of the mountain...
