Update 2: Update on MIURA EVEREST EXPEDITION - Apr.
22, 2003
The Summit team (Yuichiro,
Gota, Muraguchi) has completed 2nd acclimatization up to 6700m and spent two
nights at Camp 2 (6450m). They returned to Base Camp on the Apr/18. They
enjoyed skiing at the bottom part of Lhotse Face (6700m) down to C2 at this
acclimatization trip.
Now they are resting at EBC
[Everest base camp] until tomorrow (23rd) and schedule to head up to C3
(7300m) for their last acclimatization climb. I have spoken to them over the
satellite phone today and everybody at the Base Camp are fine. Yuichiro told
me that he feels much better and in good shape than last year's Cho Oyu
Expedition at same stage.
Following are the photos
attached to their Japanese Diary for your reference.
Bye for now and I will keep
you posted on the progress. Emili Miura
P.S. Gota loves new cook,
Mr. Fujishima and apparently he is eating a lot again!
