April 15, 2003 Yuichiro and Gota Miura, Takes Off to
the Everest Challenge!

Dispatch Two:
The Summit team (Yuichiro, Gota, Muraguchi) has
completed 2nd acclimatization up to 6700m and spent
two nights at Camp 2 (6450m). They returned to Base
Camp on the Apr/18. They enjoyed skiing at the bottom
part of Lhotse Face (6700m) down to C2 at this
acclimatization trip.

Dispatch Three:
The summit team (Yuichiro, Gota, Muraguchi) has
completed 3rd acclimatization up to 7200m, they have
climbed Lhotse face and reached Camp 3 then returned
to camp 2. Spent total of 4 days above ice fall and
now they are safely back at Base Camp (5300m) today.

Dispatch Four:
The summit team (Yuichiro, Gota, Muraguchi) will leave
Base Camp tomorrow (May/11) for summit attempt.

Dispatch Five:
The summit team (Yuichiro & Gota Miura, Muraguchi) has
departed Base camp on the 11th and now they are safely
at Camp 2 (6450m) as scheduled.

Dispatch Six:
It is the third day at Camp 2 (6450m), and summit team
(Yuichiro, Gota, Muraguchi) are all fine and patiently
waiting for better weather condition to go up to the
higher camp.

Dispatch Eight:
The summit team (Yuichiro, Gota, Muraguchi) and three
Sherpas left C3 (7200m) this morning at 6:50 am and
have safely arrived at South Col - C4 (7984m) at 2:50
pm.

Again, due to still high wind (20 ~30m/sec)
above South Col this morning, Miura team has decided
to postpone the summit attempt for one more day to the
21st.

The summit team (Yuichiro, Gota, Muraguchi) and three
Sherpas; Nga Temba Sherpa (40, Climbing Sirdar),
Chhewang Nima Sherpa(37), Fur Gyalzen Sherpa (28), are

As we
have anticipated our final attack to the summit today,
we are once again intervened by unfavorable weather
condition and are forced to stand-by at C5 for one
