Another one of the many climbers on Everest
this year was Angelo
d'Arrigo. He is working on his "Over Everest Project 1° Step". He told
EverestNews.com, "Three weeks ago I was on the Everest North Face, I have
finished my climb at third camp, when, if you remember in this period the wind
is terrible and almost all tents flew in this storm!.. My paraglider stayed inside
my tent and all disappeared in large ice crack. I returned in ABC, two days
later my sherpa Ang Dawa and Peter , a member of another expedition found my
paraglider with some damage on sail and it was not possible to fly. This first
step is integrated in my project on Everest and check wind conditions around
and above Everest. Now I have finished the planning on "Over Everest"
(two years of work) and I'm ready to fly in the next autumn with hang glider.
We look forward to seeing
Angelo d'Arrigo back on
Everest....
