Dispatch One:
Dispatch 6th June. The first ascent
of Nanga Parbat was a solo ascent by the Austrian
Hermann Buhl, on the 3rd July 1953. Unfortunately,
2003 marks the 50th anniversary of the 1st ascent of
Everest, but we should not forget that it also marks
the 50th anniversary of the 1st ascent of Nanga

Dispatch Two:
Jean-Christophe went down again from
camp 2 this morning. June 6 he slept at camp 1. He
installed his camp 2 at 6000m yesterday the 7, during
the afternoon, he went a little more above camp 2
until 6200/6300m with Ed Viesturs. He went down again
from camp 2 to the base camp this morning because it

Dispatch Three:
a small
disturbance crossed the area of Nanga Parbat in order
to leave room to the sun! Today, June 11,
Jean-Christophe, accompanied by Ed Viesturs, leaves
the base camp to go up to camp 2 at 6100m.

Hello! JCL-June 13th: Jean-Christophe finally
went down yesterday to the base camp of Nanga Parbat.
The aerological conditions still changed again, the
wind was stronger than the preceding bulletin, and
moreover, Jean-Christophe was sick all the night long
probably something he ate. He is thus gone down again
from camp 2 yesterday morning.
