The Ginette
Harrison Memorial Fund
Hi
from Nepal!
I am writing on my second day here, and
Kathmandu is "closed" because the
Maoists have decided that there should be a
strike. They seem to have power in the country to
do this even though the general population are
reluctant.
Yesterday I visited the Ginette Harrison School
near Banepa, and had a wonderful welcome, with a
band and all the pupils, the founders and the
teachers waiting for me. It was great to see that
the school is looking so lively and that they now
have enough equipment to teach properly, and that
the library is in full swing. The founders wanted
me to particularly thank "Books For
Nepal" for their kind help in supplying the
school with very good quality English books.
The photos attached show the welcoming band, the
little library, and a sign they erected to say
thank you to the family and friends of Ginette. Best
Wishes from Bob
