Expedition to Gasherbrum I: Featured

PROJECT
HIMALAYA:
The branch of Andinismo of the University of
Santiago of Chile is heading a great
project that is to conquer for the first time
for Chile, summits for on the 8000 meter
mountains. This has already been begun to materialize with
the first national ascent of
Broad Peak - 8.047 in Pakistan (July
1999).
As
the second objective for the year 2001 the Branch
of Andinismo of the USACH plans to
conquer the Gasherbrum I in Pakistan.
And as great goal the Branch has the intention to
conquer 4 8000 meter peaks per year starting in
the year 2002 that have not been summited by a
Chilean.
