9/15/2001: Though the Radio Nepal weather forecast does not hold good prospects for us, tomorrow the majority of the team will leave for the ABC. Soldering continues (today the solar batteries have their turn) - during the day Antónia Bálint's name is mentioned repeatedly. If it's true, we're going to "appear" in the Lottery Show. On the sunny hillside Mező takes pictures for advertising agencies and photos of the team. Our camp is cute from up here: the tents rest peacefully on the grass. In the evening Doc tries to prepare "császármorzsa" which is a sort of semolina-pudding. Birbál, Szerszám and Ámkámi (our Nepalese master chefs) welcome his efforts with good humour. We have the same reaction and encourage him saying that he is an excellent doctor. Although the eight-o'clock trial shooting is successful, at 22:50 there's no connection. Instead of Antónia Bálint the jealous satellite orbiting above the Indian Ocean only sends some buzzing and whirring towards us. We shrug our shoulders in sorrow, blame the PNEUFTs for the incident and go to sleep. Tomorrow we'll head towards the Mountain.
