Autumn Everest 2001: Hungarian Everest - Lhotse Expedition (2001)

In our base camp enthusiastic work proceeds. We make reports with everyone who cannot manage three questions or cannot run fast enough. A little bit of resistance on our part did obstruct photo-processing however. Zoli edited film, and Andras cleaned up the still pictures and put them up. Later, after 3 o' clock, we start out for the glacier towards ABC. Miklos leading, Zoli behind. I started out thirty minutes late, just "snaking" up behind. A debate smouldered over the relative merits of several types of motor boat (at least that's how I understood it). We reached camp towards six in the evening, just before nightfall. We were still debating difficult questions when changing into the yellow down teddy outfit with Konyi. We have fewer than ten days. Would this be enough for a rush ascent of the mountain, for the descent and for the removal of our ropes? We decided to start on it in a day and a half. I sleep deeply, like the depths of the earth.
