It has been a hard year on Everest

What
we know 5/22/2002: Zoran
Miletic, a climber from Yugoslavia is believed
to have disappeared ......
His
teammates Ivan
Loredo Vidal Climber (Mexico) and Guillermo
Carro Blaizac Climber (Mexico) are alive and headed
back up the mountain. You might read others places
that they are missing... They are headed back up to
attempt the Summit of Everest.
It
was very hard climb for George (aka Gheorghe Dijmarescu,
3 summits before this year, including one without
oxygen) and the German couple: Hartmut and Claudia.
The Germans were helped down by three Sherpas. George
came down by himself. We believe all three to be safe.
To
say what we do here is hard is an understatement. It
is not of matter of if someone will die, it is a
matter of who and how many will die every year.
But climbing big mountains is harder for the loved
ones, they see others dieing, they hear false reports
on who is dead and alive. Many will repeat these false
stories. They don't know if they should grieve or
pray.
We
will rest a few hours. Time for a walk and a prayer.
On
Thursday we will bring you some of the chaos
stories... Oh, there was several more summits of
Everest on the North including the Russians in the
storm on the 18th(?) Those Russians! But that can wait
too...
