Update 5/18/2002: Reliable sources on Everest report to EverestNews.com that the whole IMG team that attempted the Summit is headed down. Jake Norton and Karma Rita Sherpa reached the Summit. It appears Alison Levy had the most serious problems but is headed down after after a dose of dex.

Update 5/17/2002 (In America), 5/18/2002 In Nepal: Reliable sources on Everest report to EverestNews.com that Jake Norton and Karma Rita Sherpa have summited Mt. Everest at about 7:45am Nepal time on Saturday, May 18, 2002 via the South Col route! As of their radio call, the weather was still clear, but winds had picked up and clouds have formed on the horizon in several directions. Jake promised to take a few pictures and get the heck out of there!
