IMG Everest 2002 Dispatch 9: Still Cold Up High, but Time to Move

The weather at Mt. Everest remains cold and windy up high through the weekend, but the forecast for the first part of next week is improving.  On Saturday the first IMG team, composed of Phil Ershler, Sue Ershler, Stuart Smith, Ted Wheeler, Kevin Flynn, and Mark Tucker moved to Camp 1 and on Sunday to Camp 2.

We are sending several of our IMG Sherpas to the South Col on Tuesday to fix rope up to the South Summit on Wednesday, along with Sherpas from a couple other teams.  The hope is for a summit bid by our first team on Thursday the 16th, but the weather may have other plans. Stay tuned.
