& George Dijmarescu (2 summits of the North side already) from the USA, 2 climbing Sherpas from
Asian trekking supporting the expedition. George

Summits Everest for the third time!
Update
5/26/2001:
We are pleased to report that Ms. Lakpa (aka Lhakpa) Sherpa
reached the Summit of Everest on May 23rd via the standard
North Col/Northeast ridge route. She became the 4th woman to
Summit Everest twice and and the first woman climber from
Nepal to Summit twice. Only two other women from Nepal has
reached the Summit of Everest and the first died on the
descent. There was 62 ascents of Everest by women before
Spring 2001 by 59 women.
Ms. Lakpa Sherpa
left the Asia Qomolangma Cleanup Expedition and joined up with
George for his Summit attempt....
